The urban integration initiative concerning the B-23 highway, Diagonal Llobregat, is designed to envisage a comprehensive transformation of the 5.5 km section of the highway leading into Barcelona, extending from Parc del Llobregat to the junction with Ronda. The strategic objective is to preserve the capacity of the B-23 as a segregated thoroughfare, ensuring minimal impact on the ingress traffic to Barcelona, while concurrently reconfiguring its segment to elongate Diagonal into a metropolitan civic axis extending to the Llobregat. The proposed Green Diagonal, spanning 16 km, will establish connectivity between the parks of Besòs and Llobregat, seamlessly integrating public transportation systems and dedicated pathways for pedestrians and cyclists.
